Everything you need to know about FuTopia 2026.
FuTopia is a 2-day festival (Aug 8-9, 2026) in Fumba Town, Zanzibar, celebrating creativity, culture, and community.
Expect global street food, live music, traditional crafts, artisan markets, eco-workshops, upcycled fashion, and activities for all ages.
It’s more than a festival - it’s a community experience where culture, sustainability, and creativity meet on the oceanfront. Enjoy hands-on workshops, art, food, music, and a shared spirit of connection.
● Daytime (Free) – Aug 8–9, 10 AM–5 PM, Fumba Town Gardens (near main roundabout)
● Evening (Ticketed) – Aug 8–9, 5:30 PM–late, Fumba Town Beach
Free themed zones and activities for all:
● Afya Zone – Wellness & self-care
● Permaculture Zone – Sustainability & gardening
● Food Art Street – Culinary creativity
● Wonder Zone – Play & learning
● Asili Games Zone – Traditional & modern games
● Kwetu Kwenu Community Market – Local crafts & produce
● Ideas Zone - eclectic discussions & thought provoking input
● Plus: Open mic, creative recycling workshops, and community activities.
Live beachside performances and special events every night, including:
● Artists: Vania Ice, BrainBoy and Tarazouk Band, Baba Kash, Ngoma World, Sauti Marley, Sidi Blue Moon, Hammer Q, DCMA Taarab Kidumbaki Ensemble, Princekim, Playroots, LA NEGRA MEXA Y LAS CUMBIANCHERAS, and Ruth Mlawa.
● DJs: DJ LAG, DJ Joozey, Midimu Collective, Rody Joh, Zainooba, DJ Zoro, and GlobalLocal.
● ReUzi Wear Upcycling Fashion Show
● Ngalawa traditional boat race (in collaboration with Dimani & Nyamanzi villages)

Taxis from the Airport or Stone Town are approx. TSh 30,000 - 40,000.
Bajaj or TukTuks are approx. TSh 15,000 - 20,000.
Local Transport (DalaDala) runs until Nyamanzi Mwisho - from there its a 2km or TSh 1000 - 2,000 by Motorcycle Taxi (BodaBoda)

Alternatively, book any hotel in Stone Town and ride with any busses to the Festival.
